Bandsaw Cutting

Bandsaw cutting is one of the most frequently used foam fabrication techniques. It is quite handy and efficient to custom cut foam sheet or block into various sizes. Bandsaw foam cutting is also a fundamental process for further foam fabrication such as steel die-cutting, foam printing and so on. The bandsaw machinery is very easy to operate, and workable for cutting almost every foam materials within 15 shore C degree to 60 Shore C degree hardness.

Bandsaw cutting for foam materials can be divided into two main category – vertical bandsaw cutting and horizontal bandsaw cutting.

Vertical Bandsaw Cutting

Vertical bandsaw cut machinery is set with vertical blade saw. It is suitable to cut low-to-medium density foam sheets or other material. In actual foam fabrication process, vertical cutting is usually used for cutting closed cell EVA foam, Polyethylene foam, EPP foam, EPS foam and so on.

Horizontal Bandsaw Cutting

Similar to vertical bandsaw cutting, horizontal cutting machinery is geared up with horizontal blade saw. So horizontal cutting machinery slice foam sheets or blocks horizontally. In most cases, horizontal bandsaw is used for cutting large Polyurethane foam blocks. They are quite efficient to slice thick foam bun into custom required thickness.

Main Advantages:

  • Easy and handy to operate and cut a wide range of foam materials in various densities.
  • Capable of custom cutting foam material in required thickness vertically or horizontally.
  • One basic foam fabrication process and can fabricate foam sheet, foam pads and foam blocks directly.

Related Foam Material:

  • EVA Foam
  • Polyethylene Foam
  • Polyurethane Foam
  • Polypropylene Foam
  • Nitrile Foam
  • Foam Rubbers – Neoprene foam, EPDM foam and SBR foam

Applications:

  • Foam Sheets
  • Foam Pads
  • Foam Blocks
  • Foam Gaskets
  • Foam Packaging
  • Foam Composites
